It goes on and on. 696 posts. People are stuggling to play this game.

Well, come Monday I will be returning my copy to the store and
insisting on a refund. I cannot play a game that is unplayable. And
Half-Life 2, with its stuttering sound and near zero frame rate in
densely built up scenes is that, unplayable. This game may look
wonderful but it plays worse than my old Commodore 64 games. That's how
bad it is.

Shame on Valve.

I've played this game through four times and loved every minute. Too bad
you tried to play it on sub par hardware. BTW, good luck trying to get your
money back.

Perhaps you should get a new computer? The commodore probably isn't strong
enough. :-)

Both me and my 2 boys have been thru this game on DSL, on various p-4
CPU's, RAM and video cards, and never had anything but good to excellent
smooth play; and never so bad that it adversely affected game play at
all. Maybe ur system needs tweaking or a cleanup...windows tends to get
bogged down in itself about every 2 yrs or less. Check your 'net
connection, maybe its not up to par for this game, and make sure your
game settings are right for your setup. I dont like the way valve/steam
works; I prefer the UT method, but we got what they give us.
The game is awesome; u want to miss out, thats too bad.
