No hud and crosshair in hl2 Episode 2

Hello there,

I just purchased hl2 ep2 and it is a great game. But I have no crosshair
or hud. That does make the game pretty hard.

I know there supposed to be a crosshair/hud.
Any ideas on what I can do to get the full experience?

I've got the same problem with ep1.
You can try to install steam and Half Life again. After my
re-installation the crosshair works perfectly
